The Thrill of Trials: Defying Gravity and Pushing Limits
Trials stands as one of the world’s most exhilarating and daring sports, challenging riders to conquer obstacles ranging from towering 3-metre tires to rugged rocks and ramps. In this dynamic sport, competitors go against each other, aiming to navigate the course without a single dismount or touch-down, showcasing their skill, precision, and nerve.
Internationally renowned Trials rider, Dougie Lampkin, created DL12 Indoor Trial to change UK Trials riding as we know it. A course was constructed to push world-class riders to their limits and bring the audience closer in on the action than they’ve ever been before. Going into its second year, the course was tougher and the stakes were higher, so the pressure was on for the Giggabox team to maximise the event experience.
Behind the Scenes: Vision Alignment with the DL12 Team
The Giggabox team dedicated months to design and preparation to ensure a show-stopping event. We brought together specialists in their areas to ensure that each detail was on point. Meetings with the DL12 team helped kick off the process as we discussed their vision for the event.
It was important to elevate the event to new heights whilst replicating the spell binding effect we produced in last year’s show. The team set off with designing the new elements of the Trial, keeping in close contact with our dedicated project manager to ensure all components would come together.
As the event approached, we maintained regular meetings with the DL12 team to ensure our designs aligned seamlessly with their vision. Giggabox then hit the road to the Utilita Arena to assemble the set, adding that extra spark to the already thrilling action. Alongside the hard working crew preparing the arena for the show, we put the finishing touches to ensure everything was ready to shine.
Broadcasting Action for Arena-wide Visibility
Our team put together a customised Arena AV package that included Stage and Screen, Lighting, Sound, Instant Replay, and Graphics to make the event as engaging as possible.
Cameras followed all the action on the floor, projecting it onto the big screens so everyone in the arena could see every detail, no matter where they were seated. Each part of the setup was carefully chosen to bring the audience closer to the excitement of the competition. By blending these elements together, we created a thrilling experience that not only captured the energy of the event but made sure the crowd felt fully involved in the action.
